Paintworks NI operate a thriving kitchen refurbishment division. Whether our client is investing in their forever home, or preparing for sale, kitchen refurbishment is an efficient and viable option for improving the aesthetic of the property. PWNI understand that kitchen refurbishment can seem like a daunting undertaking; let us answer some commonly asked questions and provide an insight into the process undertaken by PWNI to deliver your dream kitchen.
How does kitchen refurbishment work?
On arrival, our team remove all components of the kitchen that can be removed; doors, drawer fronts, kickboards, light pelmets, cornice and any other surrounding woodwork. These components are transported to PWNI’s workshop where they will be worked on during the first week of the project. The team then return to your home and create an on-site spray booth using premium plastics, papers and tapes to protect all of the surrounding area including walls, flooring, windows, tiles, etc. Once the carcass is complete, we re-install all the finished kitchen components – revealing to you your ‘new’ kitchen!
How long does the process take?
The length of the project varies; it depends on the size of the kitchen, repairs to be carried out, adaptations and many other factors. However, most refurbishments will take up to ten working days from beginning to end.
What products are used?
PWNI use high-grade plastics, papers and tapes for masking and protecting your home for the duration of the project. The paint product used is an acid-cat lacquer; highly durable for use on kitchens which are subjected to daily wear in the home environment. The lacquer can be mixed to match any colour of the client’s choosing.
How can I adapt my kitchen?
Alongside the re-spray of the kitchen units, PWNI frequently carry out adaptations in order to create a space that works for the client and realises their vision for their kitchen. Our kitchen team leader has five decades of experience in kitchen design, manufacture and fitting – modifications are client specific and tailored to individual needs. Clients often opt to have PWNI change their work surfaces, handles and appliances as part of the project, while many often task us with the interior decoration of their kitchen/dining areas.
